Gkrellm2インストール
ServerでXwindowを使えるようにしたのでシステム監視ユーティリティを導入。
# portinstall sysutils/gkrellm2

pluginを追加
$ sudo portinstall /usr/ports/astro/gkrellmoon2

Xの画面のコマンドプロンプトから
$ gkrellm &

設定はGkrellmのウィンドウを右クリックして行う。

# vi /etc/rc.conf
以下を追加
gkrellmd_enable ="YES"

# reboot
$ ps ax | grep gkrellm
759 ?? Ss 0:00.38 /usr/local/sbin/gkrellmd -d
1040 ?? Ss 0:02.04 /usr/local/bin/gkrellm

表示させたまま終了すれば、Xfceのセッションが記憶して次回ログオン時も表示してくれる。

wine configurationダイアログが出る。
[OK]で閉じる。

office XPのCDをドライブにセットしマウント。
$ sudo mount -t cd9660 /dev/acd0 /mnt

$ ls /mnt

$ wine /mnt/setup.exe

インストーラが走るが文字が表示されない。それでもプロダクトキーを入力して続行。
ダイアログを行ったり来たりしながらExcelだけを選択してインストールをすすめる。しかし、エラーが発生した旨のダイアログが表示された。日本語で。
以下がログ。

Wine AppDBでよく似たエラーが報告されているが解決策は見当たらず、次のバージョンを待っているのだそうだ。

アップデートも結構時間がかかるのでいったんアンインストール。
# pkg_deinstall wine

次回再インストールは
# cd /usr/ports/emulators/wine
# make reinstall

バージョン上がってたらどうなるんだろう?

Xfce4設定
xdmでログインしたときの設定。VNCでのログインでは関係ないが書いておかないとxdmでログインできない。
$ ~/.xsession
以下を追記
exec startxfce4

/rootにも置いておく。

# reboot
xfce4から起動に支障がある旨のダイアログが表示される。
/etc/hostsにサーバのドメインに対応するIPアドレスを記入すると解決するらしい。

# vi /etc/hosts
192.168.xxx.xxx server.mydomain

再度xdmからログインするとxfce4が表示された。マウスは上手く起動しない。

VNCで接続している限り、以上の設定でrebootとshutdownはXfce4から出来ている。マウスも動く。/etc/groupで自分が使用している一般ユーザアカウントをwheelに追加していたからの様子。
これを実験したらshutdownもrebootもXfceから出来なくなった。
$ shutdown now
でシングルユーザモードに移行。serverで直接/etc/groupを直して
# reboot
復旧できた。

結局visudoで
%user ALL=(root) NOPASSWD: /usr/local/libexec/xfsm-shutdown-helper
または
%wheel ALL=(root) NOPASSWD: /usr/local/libexec/xfsm-shutdown-helper
を追記していない。

メディアをマウントするためのデーモンを登録。
# vi /etc/rc.confに以下を追記。
#for Xfce4
dbus_enable="YES"
hald_enable="YES"

polkitd_enable="YES"も必要らしい。

# /usr/local/etc/rc.d/dbus start
Starting dbus.
# /usr/local/etc/rc.d/hald start

# vi /etc/fstab
CDとfloppyの項目があればhalで管理するため削除。FreeBSD GNOME Project: Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) FAQ 3.How do I mount media using hal?のNOTE参照。

以下を追記。

Xfceを使う一般ユーザをoperatorグループに追加。
/etc/group
これはインストール時にやってあった。

# reboot

dbusとhaldを有効にすると/usr/local/etc/PolicyKit/PolicyKit.confに
以下を追記しないとrebootもshutdownもできない。

Thunar-volmanパッケージでメディア類を管理してくれる様子。

# portinstall sysutils/thunar-volman-plugin

Thunarを起動。[Edit]-[Preferences]-[Advanced]

「Enable volume management」をチェックし、「configure」のリンクをクリック。
[Storage]では「Auto run programs on new drives and media」のチェックを外す。


halのためのfdiファイルを追加。
# portinstall /usr/ports/sysutils/hal-info/
# /usr/local/etc/rc.d/dbus restart
# /usr/local/etc/rc.d/hald restart

VNCを再起動し接続し直すと、thunarファイルマネージャのサイドペインに自動でマウントされたCD-ROMやFloppyのアイコンが表示された。
CDの方は使えるのだが、
Floppyの方はクリックすると
"Faile to mount Floppy Drive"
mount /dev/fd0 : Operation not supported by device
とダイアログが出る。


日本語フォントのインストール。入れないと日本語のmanの表示が出来ない。
# portinstall japanese/ipa-ttfonts/

Xfceのメニュ設定ファイルをホームディレクトリにコピー。
$ cp /usr/local/etc/xdg/xfce4/desktop/menu.xml.ja ~/.config/xfce4/desktop/menu.xml
$ cp /usr/local/etc/xdg/xfce4/desktop/xfce-registered-categories.xml.ja ~/.config/xfce4/desktop

VNCを再起動して再接続。

$ vi ~/.config/xfce4/desktop/xfdesktoprc
[file-icons]
show-removable=true
show-trash=true
show-home=true
show-filesystem=true

Docのネズミアイコンを左クリックして[設定]-[Desktop Setting]
[Allow Xfce to manage the desktop]にチェック

$ rm ~/.cache/sessions

ログインするとデスクトップにゴミ箱などアイコンが表示されるようになった。

MacOSXにChicken of the VNC 2.0b4をインストール。
起動。
serverのIPアドレスを入力。
Displayには1を入力。
passwordを入力してから「Connect」を押す。

終了時はDiplay numberを明示してkill
$ vncserver -kill :1

$ vi ~/.vnc/xstartup
下記の用に編集。
#xterm -geometry 80x24+10+10 -ls -title "$VNCDESKTOP Desktop" &
#twm &

startxfce4 &

再び
$ vncserver
そしてChicken of the VNCで接続するとXfceの画面が出る。

X.orgインストール
ノートPC windows XPがとても重い。リモートデスクトップで使っているせいもあるのだろうが。本体の液晶が割れているため仕方ない。
FreeBSD serverでwineを動作させExcelが使えればwindowsには用はない。
VNCで普段使っているMacOSXから接続出来ればより便利。
